Inspirational Woman Drawing
The main idea behind this piece is to show people that everyone; no matter what religion you celebrate or what race you are everyone should be celebrated and have their opinions known. Also how people are trying to cover up the how they treat people because they know it’s wrong but they do it anyway.
My influences are kind of the kind of artwork I like. My photography influence was not a person but objects I saw and I thought that it would be good for people to know about the depth of these problems. I love photography and I knew I always wanted to incorporate that in somehow and then I saw some of Jackson Pollock's work and I this idea came into my head and I knew I wanted to use both these styles.
I understand that people might have different views of my piece and not understand the meaning behind it. I want people to know that it's made to show people that everyone is different and is worth celebrating no matter what religion you practice.
The initial idea behind this piece was, I wanted to use some photos I took of the locks at the distillery district but the photos didn’t turn out how I wanted them and the ones of the peace sign looked nicer. I always wanted to show that there is something wrong with the world and that’s why I wanted to do a Jackson Pollock over top. I wanted it to show that these problems are still a problem, people are just trying to cover them up, except we can still see the problem.
Well, I needed to plan when and where I was taking the photos, with what camera, if I was going to edit them or not, what was my colour pallet, how I was going to paint them and if I was going to paint all of them. These all added something to my creative process because if I messed up one of these or if it wasn’t done on time I wouldn't be as happy with my pieces.
My project evolved quite a lot because of the photos changed and that changed the whole dynamic of my pieces. I also was going to just do one piece and make it bigger, but I wanted to more of a personality so I came up with the idea to make 5 instead. My colour palette changed to because at the start I was gonna have different colours on each piece but then I realised that it might make them look like not the same piece, so that's how I came up with the different techniques.
I do think I achieved my goals but they changed through the processes and I don’t think if I hadn't changed them then I couldn't reach them.
Some things I think I did well were I left the photos for longer so the photo stuck better and the image was more clear. Some of the things I did badly were I waited until the last minute to find my photos so had a lot less selection. I also smudged the image when I was peeling the paper off.
I can apply what I learn here mostly to my own work that I sell because I sell my photo transfers and now I know the image will come out better the longer you leave the paper on. Also to another project where I might use some kind of painting style like Jackson Pollock I will need to know I need more space so paint doesn't go everywhere.
I think the next step would be to try to do different sizes and different kinds of photos.

Michelle Obama quotes I used
We learned about honesty and integrity - that the truth matters... that you don't take shortcuts or play by your own set of rules... and success doesn't count unless you earn it fair and square.
You should never view your challenges as a disadvantage. Instead, it's important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages.
Let's be very clear: Strong men - men who are truly role models - don't need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful. People who are truly strong lift others up. People who are truly powerful bring others together.
I have learned that as long as I hold fast to my beliefs and values - and follow my own moral compass - then the only expectations I need to live up to are my own.
You don't have to be somebody different to be important. You're important in your own right.
One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals. And so when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don't invest any energy in them, because I know who I am.
We are a nation founded as a rebuke to tyranny. A nation of revolutionaries who refused sovereign reign from afar. Hear me - we're a nation that says give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. A nation built on our differences, guided by the belief that we're all created equal.
Here in America, we don't let our differences tear us apart. Not here. Because we know that our greatness comes from when we appreciate each other's strengths when we learn from each other, when we lean on each other, because in this country, it's never been each person for themselves. No, we're all in this together. We always have been.
All of us are mentors. You're mentors right here and now. And one of the things I've always done throughout my life, I have always found that person, that group of people that I was going to reach my hand out and help bring them along with me. You have to stay in school. You have to. You have to go to college. You have to get your degree. Because that's the one thing people can't take away from you is your education. And it is worth the investment.
Choose people who lift you up.
