My overall thoughts on painting are good.  I do like to paint it can calm me down even though the prosses can be frustrating.  I don't see much in the media about painting but I do like to look at art.  One of my only dislikes about painting is trying to match colours you see in one piece to the one you're trying to do.  Other than that I love to paint.  

I chose to recreate this piece because I loved how the brush strokes look and the reflection of the boats in the water.  I think the colours scheme of this piece tells that Monet might have been feeling sad because this piece has a lot of blues.   The style also looks rushed and harsh like he was angry or mad so that could also be why he used the colours that he did.  I think this painting could represent me by being the same kind of painting style I like.  That might be why I was drawn to this piece.
